Frequently Asked Questions
My Wonderfoon has stopped working completely; what could be wrong?
Try connecting the Wonderfoon to a different charger.
My Wonderfoon plays the startup sounds (‘Wonderfoon started’, etc.) but does not respond to the rotary dial.
After the Wonderfoon has started, try dialing 3×9 (reset) first.
If the Wonderfoon still does not work, connect it to a computer using the USB cable (with the handset on the phone) and replace the music files in folder 01 with the original test files.
I hear voices through the music, can I turn this off?
Due to copyright restrictions, we are not allowed to play music on the Wonderfoon.
What you hear are test files. You can easily put music of your choice on the Wonderfoon.
Is there a limit to the length of the audio files?
Yes, but large enaugh for upto 12 hours of audio files.
The Wonderfoon uses a 4GB SD card that alows you to store 6 hours of stereo or 12 hours of mono audio files. Since the Wonderfoon only has one speaker, it is recommended to use mono files. If you want to place 30 audio files on the SD card, one behind each number and in the tree different folders, they can be an average of 24 minutes each (assuming mono files).
The files play until they end, a new number is dialed, or the handset is placed back on the hook.
Can I use a rotary dial telephone other than a T65?
Yes, that is possible. The Wonderfoon circuit board has been successfully tested with telephones from Germany, Austria, England, and America.
Compatibility depends on the function of the rotary dial.
Operation of the Dutch Rotary Dial (with 3 wires):
The rotary dial usually has 3 or 4 wires and contains 2 switches:
Switch 1 (Red and Blue): This switch closes when dialing starts and opens and closes several times while the dial returns. The number of pulses depends on the digit dialed.
Switch 2 (Yellow and Blue): This switch closes when you start dialing and only opens again when the dial has fully returned to its starting position.
Do push-button T65 telephones also work with the circuit board?
Yes, but this requires specially programmed kits.
These kits have different programming and also require a different bracket for mounting the circuit module.
The push-button circuit board from yur phone is connected to the push-button module with 7 wires.
Note: Different push-button modules were used in the T65. Most of them are compatible.
If you would like advice on your specific version, you can send a few photos of the push-button module (from different angles).
